The largest beetle I've ever held. The titan beetle, Titanus giganteus, is maybe the largest insect (by weight). The record is 16.7 cm long. It is a longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae, in science language), so we are pretty sure that the larva feeds inside trees. But no one has ever seen the larvae! Does this remind you of another monstrous insect?
