Okay, let's just say the white witch is among the largest insects in the world. Why am I interested in this species?
- The mystery. Scientists love simple questions that haven't been answered yet. Where do the moths come from?
- A fellow researcher, David Wagner, is a friend of mine and also lives right here in Connecticut. He is also a world expert on "owlet moths," a group that includes white witch. We have some other collaborators also from Connecticut. We all love the mystery. We think we can solve it.
- The answers are probably to be found in the Amazon. The white witch quest is a great excuse for me to journey there, and see all of the other amazing organisms that live in the largest rainforest on Earth.
